Rosneft and Siemens Develop Cooperation

Rosneft and Siemens AG signed an agreement at the 21st Petersburg International Economic Forum to extend the terms of previous cooperation and partnership agreements until 2020.

According to the document, the parties will continue exploring cooperation opportunities in the area of technological support of projects for the production, refining and transportation of hydrocarbons, as well as in shipbuilding.

The parties stated they are satisfied with the progress of their current cooperation. In particular, the companies have jointly approbated Siemens solutions in the area of automated ships design engineering at Lazurit Central Design Bureau.

Also Siemens engineers implemented supply, installation and launch of gas turbine units on Rosneft sites.

Application of Siemens technologies at the Company's production and refining facilities will have a positive impact on operating performance, while implementation of joint projects in shipbuilding will facilitate introduction of a number of innovative solutions in this area.

Rosneft and Siemens signed a Cooperation and Partnership Agreement on 24 March 2016. Areas of cooperation include the development and implementation of energy-efficient technologies for oil fields and refineries, such as heat recovery systems, frequency-controlled drives and upgraded power supply networks, compressors for onshore and offshore fields. In addition, Siemens specialists will be involved in the implementation of solutions for the management of distribution networks used in oil production and refining. The parties also agreed to assess the potential of joint activities in the area of innovative shipbuilding solutions. This includes the potential for the implementation of the "digital shipyard” concept and projects to develop subsea power systems and floating production, storage and off-loading facilities (FPSO). The agreement also provides for cooperation between the companies to modernize Rosneft's oil depots and tank farms.
